MS Ireland have just published the first major study of the needs and experiences of Irish people living with multiple sclerosis. With over 800 respondents, the research provides a valuable insight into access to a range of services and treatments including diagnostic imaging, neurology services, medications, neuro-rehabilitation and a range of social care supports.
The findings are stark, for example only 25% of respondents had been offered neuro-rehabilitation services over the past 12 months. As MS is a progressive condition, this finding is of significant concern.
