Tom Scott

Tom Scott is the CEO of Spina Bifida Hydrocephalus Ireland (SBHI), the national organisation for those living with spina bifida and/or hydrocephalus. 

With over 15 years' experience in social care and education settings, Tom has worked and volunteered for charitable organisations including Deafblind UK, The CROPS Trust, Soapbox, and The Peacehaven Trust. 

Originally from Leicester, UK, Tom lived in Ireland from 2004-2011, working in social care and education settings, whilst also developing his own creative services company. 

In 2011 a move back to the UK saw him heading up the fundraising, communications, and marketing work at Shine (Spina Bifida Hydrocephalus Information Networking Equality), before returning to Ireland in 2015 to take up his current role with SBHI.

Tom is a Board member with the International Federation for Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus (IFSBH), Scoil Mochua, (Special School, Clondalkin), and Chairperson of the Neurological Alliance of Ireland (NAI). 

Tom is passionate about the rights of those living with disabilities and seeks to facilitate progression in this area at every opportunity through his roles with SBHI, IFSBH, Scoil Mochua, and the NAI. 

Tom holds a BA Hons and MA in Theology from the University of Manchester.
