The We Need Our Heads Examined campaign is calling for investment of €4.5m in neurorehabilitation services in the upcoming Budget. This investment is to support the development of a pilot neurorehabilitation network in the East of the Country to address critical gaps in services and unacceptable waiting lists including in the National Rehabilitation Hospital. 

The campaign recognises that there are huge gaps in neurorehabilitation services countrywide. This investment in Budget 2019 represents only the beginning of what needs to be a dedicated programme of investment year on year to implement the National Neurorehabilitation Strategy. The campaign understands that Minister for Health Simon Harris recently received the long awaited implementation plan for the strategy from the HSE. We are calling on the Minister to publish the plan as soon as possible, together with a commitment to immediate investment.
