In the run up to World Brain Day, July 22nd, the Executive Director of NAI wrote to the Irish Times, highlighting the critical need to prioritise investment in neurological care in the fight against COVID-19.

Citing an article in the paper earlier this month, Ms Rogers emphasised the increasing evidence of neurological consequences for some COVID-19 patients. Increasing demand for neurology and neurorehabilitation services due to COVID-19 will place additional pressure on services already at breaking point due to decades of underinvestment. The impact of COVID-19 on public fundraising is threatening the future of the neurological charities which provide essential services and supports to people with neurological conditions and their families.
