23.09.2022 Letter from One Neurology Campaign Published in Lancet Neurology

"The Neurology Revolution", an article submitted by representatives of the #OneNeurology campaign, has been published in the September Issue of the Lancet Neurology.
The piece highlight s that the WHO's Intersectoral Global Action Plan on Epilepsy and Other Neurological Disorders 2022–2031 (IGAP) marks a turning point and will represent a revolution in neurology. By 2040, neurological diseases are projected to contribute to an increase of approximately 50% in disability-adjusted life-years (DALYs) while neurological disorders are now the fastest growing cause of death among non-communicable diseases worldwide.
The authors of the article call on countries worldwide to use the WHO plan as leverage to mobilise collective advocacy: calling on governments to take action to reduce the burden and impact of neurological conditions.
NAI is a member of the #OneNeurology campaign which aims to unite and strengthen neurology-related groups to stimulate collective advocacy, action and accountability for the prevention, treatment and management of neurological disorders worldwide.
