The Patients Deserve Better campaign launched in CHO7 on Tuesday April 25th, calling for the establishment of a dedicated community neurorehabilitation team.

Speaking at the online event, Siobhan Kenny, Clinical Specialist Occupational Therapist at Peamount Hospital highlighted the importance of access to neurorehabilitation services for patients with neurological conditions and that having delayed or no access to these services and teams, mean longer and unnecessary stays in hospital.

Lived experience representative and co-founder of EOPD.ie Joe Condon shared his own story and early diagnosis with us and spoke about how a dedicated community rehabilitation team is something that he needs now and not in the future.

Lived experience representative Niamh McCarron shred her own story with us and spoke about the fact that everyday someone has to be an outpatient, because they can't access services from home, is a day away from their family, job and life.
