3.3.2017 Our Beautiful Minds: Public Information Evening on March 6th to Launch Brain Awareness Week

National Brain Awareness Week takes place nationwide each year to raise awareness of brain conditions such as epilepsy, stroke, acquired brain injury and dementia which affect over 800,000 people in Ireland.

A free public information evening will take place in Trinity College Dublin to share the most up to date research on how our lives are shaped by our brains and how they are impacted by experiences, injury and illness.

Professor Tim Lynch, Director of the Dublin Neurological Institute will demonstrate how high tech surgery for deep brain stimulation has the potential to transform the lives of hundreds of Irish people with neurological conditions.

Professor Shane O Mara, Professor of Experimental Brain Research in Trinity College will share the latest research on understanding our brains and how they cope with challenging life events.

Events for Brain Awareness Week are taking place around the country throughout the week March 6th 12th.
