What: Migraine Action Week 2016: One of the main advocacy weeks for the Migraine Association of Ireland, aims to raise awareness of the common, disabling and treatable nature of migraine.

 When: Monday 12th to Sunday 18th September

Where: Nationwide

Theme: 'New and emerging therapies.' 

Who: Organised by the Migraine Association of Ireland (MAI).

The World Health Organisation ranks migraine as the 6th most disabling disease worldwide and classifies severe attacks as among the most disabling illnesses, comparable to dementia, quadriplegia and active psychosis.

There are approximately half a million migraine sufferers in Ireland. The MAI exists to provide information, support and reassurance to these people and their families, while seeking further research, better treatments and increased public awareness of the condition.
