Our media coverage of Brain Awareness Week 2021 continues with a letter in today's Irish Times highlighting the lack of progress in implementing the National Neurorehabilitation Strategy.
The letter outlines that a decade on from the launch of the Strategy in 2011, less than thirty of the 150 specialist rehabilitation beds promised have been put in place while only two of nine community neurorehabilitation teams have been funded.
The only investment has been in the East of the country despite the huge dearth of rehabilitation services in Cork, Galway and other regional centres.
