7.3.2012: NAI keynote conference for National Brain Awareness Week focuses on campaigning

Over one hundred delegates attended the NAI keynote conference for National Brain Awareness Week "Securing Neurological Care and Rehabilitation in a Recession".

Opening the conference, Mr Chris Macey, Chair of NAI spoke of the effectiveness of not for profit organisations as advocates for change, as service providers and as key partners in transforming neurological care services

This was followed by presentations of each of the four Clinical Leads for the Stroke, Epilepsy, Neurology and Rehabilitation medicine programmes.

The afternoon session of the conference focused on supporting not for profit organisations in campaigning for better services for people with neurological conditions and their families. The Alzheimer Society of Ireland and Amnesty gave advice and feedback from their own campaigning experience.

NAI is keen to support its members in their role as advocates for better neurological care services. National Brain Awareness Week runs all week unitl March 11th.
