Membership Criteria

The Neurological Alliance of Ireland is an umbrella organisation representing the collective goals of many individual not for profit organisations working with people with neurological conditions and their families. By uniting the efforts of many into one voice, the NAI aims to secure improved care and support for people with a neurological condition, to inform and influence policy makers on the unique needs of these individuals and their families and to act as vibrant network for information sharing and support among its member groups.

To apply for ordinary membership of the NAI, an organisation must meet the following criteria:

  • Directly represent the interests of people with a neurological condition (e.g. through direct service or support provision or by representation of their needs at policy level)
  • Be granted charitable status by the Charities Regulator and possess a valid Charity Registration Number
  • Be based in the Republic of Ireland and not a branch of an organisation based abroad
  • Be willing to support the aims and activities of the NAI and engage with the umbrella organisation

Organisations which do not meet all these criteria can apply for Associate Membership. If an associate member fulfils the criteria for ordinary membership at a later stage, they can apply for ordinary membership. Associate members should be committed to progressing to full membership status within 2 years of becoming an Associate member.

Enquiries about membership should be made directly to mrogers@nai.ie
