The Neurological Alliance of Ireland has launched a campaign calling for a dedicated consultant neurologist in 5 regional hospitals around the country, including Portlaoise hospital. On May 13th, NAI will hold an online event to enable TDs and counsillors to hear from local patients, patient organisations and clinicians on the need for a dedicated Neurology Service for Midland Regional Hospital Portlaoise.

National Brain Awareness Week is an annual initiative organised in March each year by the Neurological Alliance of Ireland to promote greater awareness and understanding of the impact of living with a neurological condition as well as the need for investment in services, research and prevention. It is currently supported by over 33 patient organisations and research groups.
