(Neurology Services) NAI Patients Deserve Better Campaign for Regional Neurology Services 

On March 12th 2024 the NAI launched a campaign for Consultant Neurologists for 5 regional hospitals around the country, in Bantry, Portlaoise, Wexford, Mayo and Letterkenny, 

Access to a Neurologist should not depend on where you live, yet people are travelling 60 to 112km to see their Neurologists.

(Neurology Services) NAI Patients Deserve Better Campaign for Neurology Nurse Specialists

The NAI actively campaigns for the implementation of the National Model Of Care for Neurology Services in Ireland published by the HSE in 2018. In 2021 the Neurological Alliance of Ireland published a national audit of neurology services: highlighting a range of deficits in staffing and other issues across neurology centres throughout Ireland.  Download the Neurology Audit summary Report  In October 2022 the NAI launched an advocacy campaign to address one of the most significant findings of the audit: the huge shortfall in clinical nurse specialists in neurology. (Neurorehabilitation Services ) NAI patients Deserve Better Campaign for Community Neurorehabilitation Teams

The NAI actively campaigns for the implementation of the 2019 Framework for the National Policy and Strategy for Neurorehabilitation Services. In November 2022 the NAI launched an advocacy campaign calling for implementation of one of the key recommendations of the Neurorehabilitation Strategy: the establishment of a network of nine community neurorehabilitation teams. Get Rare Aware Campaign
