On July 22nd, World Brain Day, the NAI keynote event, Neurology at the Forefront of Innovation in Knowledge-Based Healthcare and Research Across Europe, brought together Irish and European organisations representing people affected by neurological conditions, researchers and clinicians to consider how Europe can respond more effectively to the growing challenge of neurological conditions through stronger healthcare delivery, research and innovation.

The Declaration on Advancing Neurological Health During Ireland's EU Presidency was launched by Nina Carberry, MEP for Midlands North West, and the organisations involved in Neurology at the Forefront of Innovation in Knowledge Based Healthcare and Research Across Europe, at our keynote associated event for Ireland’s Presidency of the European Union which took place on July 22nd, World Brain Day.

Eamon has served as the lived experience NAI board representative since 2024. He lives with Functional Neurological Disorder (FND) and another neurological condition called Dystonia. Eamon is founder and chair of NAI members FND Ireland the first Irish registered charity supporting those living with FND.

The Neurological Alliance of Ireland is calling on the Government to make targeted investments in neurology and neurorehabilitation services.
