In Ireland, there are approximately 15,000 to 18,000 people living with Parkinson's. It is the second fastest growing neurological condition in the world. Neurology specialist nurses can play an important role in the supporting of people living with a neurological condition such as Parkinson's - they provide expert guidance and continuity of care from diagnosis onwards. Catriona Kinnevey was just 30 when she noticed tremors, and began looking for ways to manage what she thought was anxiety. When her brother was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease it spurred her to seek a diagnosis, which started her on the road to effectively managing the symptoms.
