Press Release Dublin 8th : The Neurological Alliance of Ireland (NAI), the national umbrella organisation representing 40 neurological charities, has welcomed the Government’s Budget 2026 announcement of a €3 million investment in community neuro-rehabilitation teams. This funding Sends Strong Signal of Government Commitment to Deliver on Neuro-rehabilitation
These multidisciplinary teams provide essential, specialist neuro-rehabilitation in community settings, supporting people living with a wide range of acquired neurological disabilities to achieve greater independence and quality of life.
Magdalen Rogers, CEO of the Neurological Alliance of Ireland, said:
“We warmly welcome the Budget announcement responding to the key recommendation in our Pre-Budget Submission for investment in community neuro-rehabilitation teams. Our recent report, The Right Care in the Right Place, launched in June this year and based on a nationwide survey of over 674 adults living with a neurological condition, highlighted the significant regional inequities in access to community-based neuro-rehabilitation, with many areas of the country still without any access to a community-neurorehabilitation team. The investment in this year’s Budget sends a strong signal of the Government’s commitment in its first year in office to delivering on its Programme for Government commitments to neuro-rehabilitation. We particularly wish to acknowledge Minister for Disability Hildegarde Naughton for her leadership in recognising the importance of equitable access to community neuro-rehabilitation services for adults with acquired neurological disabilities across Ireland.”
