The Neurological Alliance of Ireland has marked this year’s World Brain Day (22.07.2025) with an event in Peamount Healthcare Dublin, where its members highlighted to attending Ministers and TDs that Ireland has less than half of the neurorehabilitation beds needed for its population. 40 neurological charities came together to call on the Government to deliver on its Programme for Government pledges to neurorehabilitation in the upcoming Budget.

The Neurological Alliance of Ireland will mark World Brain Day on July 22nd with a call for investment in neuro-rehabilitation services. The findings of our recent report The Right Care in the Right Place showed that of nearly 700 respondents, a quarter had never had access to neurorehabilitation.

NAI's pre-budget submission is calling for investment in 4 community neurorehabilitation teams in the North West, South East, North Dublin and the Midlands, in order to deliver on the Programme for Government commitment to complete the rollout of community neuro-rehabilitation teams across the country.
On Monday 16th June, local lived experience advocates and voluntary providers from across the South East came together to call for the delivery of a community neuro-rehabilitation team for the South East, promised since 2019.
