Alison Cotter

Alison Cotter is the Policy and Advocacy Manager at IPPOSI, where she brings extensive expertise in health policy, stakeholder engagement and patient-centred advocacy to support IPPOSI's mission of embedding the patient voice at the heart of healthcare, research and innovation in Ireland.

Prior to joining IPPOSI, Alison worked as Advocacy and Research Officer at MS Ireland, leading national advocacy initiatives to improve policy and services for people living with multiple sclerosis. In this role, she developed and delivered evidence-based advocacy campaigns, engaged directly with Ministers, Oireachtas members and senior civil servants, and translated complex health policy developments into strategic insights that drove meaningful change.

Alison holds a Bachelor in Law and Business from the University of Galway and a Diploma in Public Relations with First Class Honours from the Public Relations Institute of Ireland. She is a strong advocate for meaningful patient and public involvement in health policy, with a particular commitment to building the cross-sector partnerships and trusted spaces for dialogue that are essential to driving inclusive, evidence-based change across Ireland's health system.
