We have done a full analysis of Brain Awareness Week 2026, and once again the week was jam packed and turned out to be one of the biggest and busiest weeks to date. The Neurological Alliance of Ireland (NAI) has led the way in promoting and co-ordinating the week throughout Ireland since 2005.
However, we can't do it alone. We would like to extend a massive thanks to all our Brain Awareness Week supporters, our NAI members, our amazing patient advocates, family members, neurology nurses, the INNF (Irish Neurology Nurse Forum), and the wider neurological community who together made March 16th to 22nd the successful week that it was.
We would also like to thank the Members of MEP Interest Group on Brain Health, for their videos in support of Brain Awareness Week. We all came together as one to promote greater awareness and understanding of the brain, as well as the need for more investment in services.
On March 16th we launched the week with our webinar: My Neurology Nurse And Me: ‘Highlighting the Vital Role of Nurse Specialists in Neurological Care’. The My Neurology Nurse and Me awareness initiative ran throughout and alongside the week. This campaign initiative highlighted the vital role of nurse specialists in neurology care. Specialist neurology nurses are at heart of neurological services, proving expert clinical support, educating and empowering patients and improving outcomes for people with neurological conditions.
