John Nugent manages IDA Ireland’s Medical Technologies & Healthcare Services Department. He has worked with IDA Ireland for over 24 years, joining the organisation from its sister agency, Enterprise Ireland, in 2002. During his career with IDA Ireland, John has held a range of leadership roles across the Engineering Department, the Silicon Valley overseas office, and Regional Development, where he served as Manager for the Northwest and Border Region. In February 2021, he joined the Medical Technologies Department as East Coast Manager before being appointed Department Manager in October 2023. John holds an honours degree in Chemistry from Queen’s University Belfast, a Master’s degree in Environmental Protection from Atlantic Technological University, a Diploma in Business Strategy from the Irish Management Institute, and a Master’s degree in Management from UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School.
